January 19, 2019 by Justin Cooke Leave a Comment

Structuring these funds is a new and exciting opportunity in the industry and we’re seeing more and more funds popping up from various teams we’ve done business with.

The question is – would you be better off giving away debt, equity, or some mix between the two to your investors?

S04E01: Intro To Portfolio Investments

October 17, 2018 by Justin Cooke 2 Comments

Subscribe to our VIP LISTWe’re back with Season 4 of the Web Equity Show!

Both Ace and I have spent the last year off the podcast growing and expanding our businesses. It’s finally time to get back on the mic and to dive into what we’ve been up to and where we see the industry heading over the next few years.

Both of our businesses have seen a tremendous amount of growth. No small part of that is due to our involvement in larger and larger deals.

We’re going to take an entire season to dig into these larger 6, 7, and even 8 figure acquisitions.

Specifically, we’re going to look at deal flow, due diligence, deal structures, and how to set these deals up for success.

In this first episode of Season 4, we’re going to catch you up on what’s been going on in the industry and give an overview of Season 4 and some of the larger deals we’ve been working on.

If you’re new to the Web Equity Show, make sure to check out our previous seasons. (Season 2 if you’re looking to buy, Season 3 if you’re looking to sell)

S03E08: Deal Structuring For Sellers

May 17, 2017 by Justin Cooke Leave a Comment

Subscribe to our VIP LISTNot all deal structures are the same…

In Season 2, we published an episode to look at how buyers could use deal structuring to their advantage.

Well – it’s time to do the same thing again from a seller’s perspective!

These are fun episodes for us. We love to work and massage deals to see how we can make them beneficial for both parties.

Most of this comes down to really understanding where the other party is coming from and looking for opportunities to meet their needs and extend your own interests to get the deal done.

We definitely had fun recording this one – we hope you like it!

S03E03: Preparing To Sell Your Online Business (Part 1)

February 8, 2017 by Justin Cooke Leave a Comment

Subscribe to our VIP LISTWhat are the exact steps you need to take if you want to sell your online business?

That’s the question we’re tackling in this 2-part episode.

We’ve shared tips/tricks in previous episodes and on the Empire Flippers Podcast, but we wanted to see if we could break the process down specifically for a potential seller.

We’ll be walking you through exactly what you need to setup and prepare if you have a mind to sell:

Phase I – Getting Your Business Started. Why do you need to think about an exit from day 1? What can you do to better set yourself up for a successful exit?

Phase II – Growing/Scaling Your Business. What steps can you take during the growth process that will improve value?

Phase III – 12 Months Out. What can you do when you’re 12 months out from a potential sale to maximize the value of your business?

In these two episodes, we’ll walk you through, step-by-step, from creating your business up to getting the online business ready to list.

If you’re at all interested in hearing about how to sell your online business, these two episodes will help you get there.

Fan of the show? Please stop by iTunes and leave us a review! We’ll give you a shout on a future episode and would love the feedback!

Have a question? Feel free to use Speakpipe to record a question and we’ll do our best to answer it on an upcoming episode of the Web Equity Show.
